World Tourism Day: Hotel Alimara celebrates 30 years of hospitality service
World Tourism Day: Hotel Alimara's commitment to training, sustainability and the experience of our guests
Every September 27th we celebrate World Tourism Day, a date that invites us to reflect on the importance of this activity as a driver of social, economic and cultural development.
At Hotel Alimara, this day takes on a special meaning: we are a university hotel located on the CETT-UB Campus, where the training of future professionals in the sector, sustainability and the creation of valuable experiences for our guests are an essential part of our identity.
30 years creating memorable experiences
This 2025 we proudly celebrate our 30 years of history. Three decades in which we have welcomed thousands of travelers from all over the world, always offering them the best possible experience for their stay. Our commitment is clear: to create unique experiences that exceed the expectations of those who choose us, combining hospitality, comfort and proximity.

A university hotel at the service of training
The uniqueness of Hotel Alimara lies in being a hotel linked to the university, open to travelers, students and professionals. Here, the students of tourism, hotel management and gastronomy of the CETT-UB find a real learning environment, where they put into practice their knowledge and develop skills in direct contact with the day-to-day life of a hotel establishment.
This model makes us a living learning space where innovation, professionalism and passion for tourism are transmitted to new generations.
Projects that connect theory and practice
Our commitment to training is materialized in initiatives such as the Alimara Learning Pills Learning Pills Alimarashort, dynamic capsules that offer students practical tools on hotel management, industry trends and sustainability. These projects reinforce our role as a bridge between academic knowledge and professional reality.

Sustainability: a fundamental pillar
In parallel, sustainability is one of the strategic axes that guide our actions. For years, we have been working to reduce the environmental impact of our operations by:
- Efficient use of energy and water.
- Reduction of single-use plastics and responsible waste management.
- Promotion of local and seasonal products in our Summum restaurant.
- Sensitization of guests and students on good sustainable practices.
In addition, we have been accredited as a hotel committed to good environmental practices through the Biopshere through the Biopshere seal, which rewards tourism establishments aligned with sustainability; B-Greenly, which accredits us as a hotel that holds social and corporate events that take into account the environmental impact of their actions and are committed to reducing them; and the EMAS and ISO 14001 accreditations, which define us as a hotel benchmark in terms of environmental responsibility.
We are convinced that the future of tourism must be built on respect for the environment and shared responsibility.

Looking to the future of tourism
On this World Tourism Day, Hotel Alimara reaffirms its commitment to the training of tomorrow's professionals, to sustainability as a guide and to excellence in the experience of our guests. Celebrating 30 years drives us to look to the future with enthusiasm, keeping our purpose alive: to be a space where hospitality, innovation and passion for a more responsible, inclusive and transformative tourism come together.
