WE REVOLUTIONIZE OUR SPACES TO ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING OF OUR GUESTS THANKS TO NEUROTOURISM.
We have taken a firm step towards the hotel industry of the future with the implementation of the project Neuroturísticproject, a pioneering initiative that has tangibly transformed our spaces with the aim of improving the emotional well-being and satisfaction of those who visit us. Thanks to this intervention, we reaffirm our position as a benchmark in hotel innovation based on scientific evidence and the real needs of our guests.
Innovation applied to the guest experience
As a university hotel that is part of the CETT Campus , Hotel Alimara not only welcomes travelers, but also acts as a living laboratory -the Alimara Living Lab-where new ways of understanding hospitality are experimented. In this environment, the Neuroturístic project has been one of the most ambitious actions, carried out in collaboration with the AMBIT Cluster and innovative companies such as Chök, Goli Neuromarketing and the Centre Tecnològic Eurecat.
Through the application of neurodesign techniques , artificial intelligence and environmental monitoring, we have rethought key areas of our infrastructure, with a clear objective: to create spaces that truly generate comfort, pleasure and emotional connection with users.

A redesign with real impact: the case of La Ronda
One of the most transformative points of the project has been the renovation of our La Ronda space, where guests enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Thanks to the use of neurotechnologies and emotional analysis, the project team identified that, despite the high quality of the gastronomic product, the buffet layout generated feelings of disorder and discomfort.
Based on this diagnosis, Hotel Alimara undertook a comprehensive renovation of the space, which included:
-
A new buffet layout, grouping products in a single, more orderly and accessible area.
-
The creation of a more intuitive and fluid path to avoid visual repetition and improve diners' orientation.
-
Improvements in visual presentation, with different heights and a new arrangement of key elements such as juices and coffees.
These interventions have not only beautified the environment, but have resulted in a significant increase in dwell time, positive evaluation of the experience and elimination of negative emotions. The redesign has shown that the problem was not the product, but the environment.

Data and science at the service of design
The process has not been based on intuition, but on rigorous fieldwork. A hybrid research methodology has been adopted that combines:
-
Subjective data, such as phenomenological workshops with clients and equipment.
-
Objective data, obtained through wearable technologies (bracelets, sensors, extended reality).
-
Environmental indicators (air quality, lighting, acoustics, temperature).
The results have been revealing: improvements in environmental parameters can increase productivity by up to 78%, reduce absenteeism by 40% and increase user satisfaction by 60%. These data reinforce our commitment to continue designing spaces that prioritize people's emotional health.
A new paradigm in hospitality
In this way, from Hotel Alimara, thanks to its central role in the Neuroturístic project, we position ourselves as a hotel of the 21st century, which understands design not as an aesthetic aspect, but as a strategic tool to elevate the human experience. This innovative approach responds to an increasingly clear trend: wellness is no longer an extra, but a new standard in the tourist experience.

We celebrated the closing day in the event rooms of the Alimara Hotel.
On June 11 we hosted, in our Living Labs rooms (for small business meetings) the closing day of the Neuroturístic Project, where the participating companies, including Hotel Alimara, were able to present the results of the study and the positive impact of the changes made in our spaces. There was also a round table, with the participation of the mâitre and head of the Hotel Alimara's restaurant areas, Josep Maria Arcos, where we were able to discuss in a more relaxed way the importance for our guests of participating in this study.

The Neuroturístic project has been funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through grants for last mile digitization projects (Line 2), reaffirming the value that this type of intervention has for the modernization of the sector.
